Job Description: NVIT anticipates a need for Director, Finance and invites applications from qualified candidates. The campus location, either Merritt or Burnaby, will be determined by candidate suitability. This will be a full-time, ongoing exempt position. Job Summary: The Director, Finance, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, is required to work independently and proactively for full completion of month-end and quarter-end procedures, and for the analysis and preparation of internal and external financial reports. The Director will provide budget advice and accounting expertise for the development and preparation of detailed institute-wide budgets. The Director, Finance will maintain on-going expense plan changes, reconciling them to funding sources and ensuring compliance with related policies and/or funding agreements. The Director provides guidance and recommendation to the CFO in ensuring the institute’s financial activity and reporting is conducted, recorded, reviewed and reported according to generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP) and to maintain compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS). |
