Overview

The Lytton First Nation (LFN) is seeking a Climate Resilience Plan (CRP) Coordinator to lead our efforts in developing, implementing, and managing climate resilient strategies. This role involves working with internal and external teams, the LFN community, creating actionable plans to effectively mitigate the impact of climate change. Have a strong commitment and understanding of climate resilience, impacts, adaptation strategies, mitigation practices and sustainability. Through community engagement, the CRP Coordinator will compile a needs assessment focusing on climate resiliency.

LFN is committed to creating a more resilient and sustainable future through innovative solutions by using the LFN Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP), as a guiding document and building on the traditional knowledge of the Nlaka’pamux People.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Community Engagement: The CRP coordinator will compile, focus, collaborate, and facilitate climate resiliency engagement and increase awareness with leadership, community, and partners/ stakeholders. • Project Management: o Identify, address, develop, coordinate and implement climate resiliency plans and sustainable goals. Work with internal and external teams relating to climate resiliency to identify risks and opportunities. • Data Collection and Filing: o Stay informed on the latest climate resilient best practices and strategies to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and enhance resilience. Develop and manage budgets and expenditures and a monitoring design plan for LFN’s water, air and weather stations. • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Grade 12 or GED • Ability to be in an office setting, and work in the field as required • Strong research and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Basic and intermediate computer skills. • Experience working on climate resilience projects, delivering presentations and engaging with community. • Proficient in preparing reports and briefings for the committee, funders, and the Chief and Council. • Driver’s license • General knowledge of the culture, values, and traditions of the Nlaka’pamux Nation • Criminal Record check required.
