Overview

Sandy Point Campground and Pierre’s Point Campground are seeking one Summer Student Worker to join their team. The Guest Services Clerk will provide excellent customer service, and complete financial transactions for both campgrounds. The successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal communication skills, and complete any required tasks while unsupervised. The successful candidates should be able to work well with others and be proactive with their work responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Adams Lake Indian Band policies and procedures

• Welcome guests in a friendly manner

• Take payments (cash, debit & credit card) and handle cash securely and confidently, as well as prepare deposits for the camp manager

• Notify managers/supervisors of any damages, deficits and disturbances

• Respectfully solve any guest concerns or requests

• Have knowledge of local attractions, restaurants and directions around the Shuswap/ Secwepemc area and be able to accurately convey this information to guests

• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance

• Customer-oriented and friendly

• Prioritization and time management skills

• Working quickly without compromising quality

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

• Ability to work all shifts, including weekend, evenings and holidays, if required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Those normally associated with a typical store environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of work is performed in a typical store environment. Various shift patterns may be required (evening shift, weekdays and weekends).

Work Location: 2569 Campground Rd and/or 2100 Sandy Point Rd, Salmon Arm, BC

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Eligible participants must be of Indigenous ancestry

• Must have a Social Insurance Number and be at least 15 years of age

• Must meet ASETS criteria for referral (Referral required before interview)

• Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB, may be required (provided at no cost to the individual)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Fixed term position 8 weeks: July 7, 2025 to August 29, 2025

Wage offered will be: $19.14 per hour

Hours per week: 37.5 – 40, with some flexibility in hours/days of work

Competition closes June 9th, 2025 at midnight, Pacific Time.
