Overview
Sandy Point Campground and Pierre’s Point Campground are seeking two Summer Student Workers to join their team. Reporting to the Campgrounds Manager, the Summer Student Grounds Maintenance will primarily be assisting with general maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the overall functionality and safety of their facilities. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, excellent problem-problem skills, and keen attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Adams Lake Indian Band policies and procedures
• Performs safe operation and maintenance practices and procedures related to the equipment and tools
• Assisting with the mechanical servicing and light repair of equipment
• Assisting with the minor repairs to irrigation lines and sprinkler heads
• Assisting with the installation and maintenance of new or existing water lines on the campsite grounds
• Assisting with the preparation and placement of sand bagging for lake flood areas
• Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
• Prioritization and time management skills and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to work all shifts, including weekend, evenings and holidays, if required
• Ability to use and look after equipment in a safe manner
• Physically able to perform the responsibilities of the position, which includes working in adverse weather conditions, and lifting heavy objects/equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Bending, stretching, kneeling, working at heights may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Must be able to safely work around and with heavy machinery and power tools. Occasionally exposed to insects, and varying weather conditions, which may be extreme from hot and cold or wet.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Eligible participants must be of Indigenous ancestry
• Must have a Social Insurance Number and be at least 15 years of age
• Must meet ASETS criteria for referral (Referral required before interview)
• Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB, may be required (provided at no cost to the individual)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Fixed term position 8 weeks: July 7, 2025 to August 29, 2025
Wage offered will be: $19.14 per hour
Hours per week: 37.5 – 40, with some flexibility in hours/days of work
Competition closes June 9th, 2025 at midnight, Pacific Time.
