Most all First Nation organizations, regardless of size, and some Tribal Councils employ this type of position. Village Maintenance Workers carry out routine operation and maintenance duties of community infrastructure systems, usually in accordance with a village maintenance plan. Repair and maintenance include; road & drainage, hydrant fire protection, water distribution, sewer systems, and community facility/buildings. This position may also undertake solid waste disposal or garbage collection.
