About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Membership Services Manager, the Elders Coordinator is responsible for organizing and facilitating Elders’ meetings, events, and program activities, providing travel assistance as required, and for administering the Elder’s Emergency Housing Repair Program (“EEHR”). This job includes occasional physical movements to assist elders in travel and out on the land excursions.

• Organize at least 6 annual social and/or educational event for the Elders

• Organize and facilitates the monthly Elders’ meeting including agenda and action items for monthly meetings

• Provide Elders with transportation to meetings and outings as requested

• Administer records management of financial files, Elder budgets and reports

• Arrange the registration, bookings, and travel requirements for out-of-town events

• Create program activities that includes cultural, leisure and wellness activities

• Assist Elders with the application for the EEHR program

• Assist the Elders Chair person in preparing the annual report to Chief & Council

Must Haves:

• Administrative Assistant Certificate or Office Assistant Certificate

• Minimum of two (2) years’ administration experience

• First Aid Level 1 or Emergency First Aid-Community Care required

• Valid BC driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract and access to reliable transportation is required;

• Acceptable Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search required

Minimum starting salary for this position $44,528
