Overview
Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking one Summer Student Worker to join their team. Reporting to and under the direction of the Elders Worker, the Summer Student will be assisting with the Elders program by promoting events, activities and opportunities for all Adams Lake Band Elders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Adams Lake Band policies, guidelines, procedures and as directed by supervisor or designate
• Maintains confidentiality on all matters
• Develops a rapport and relationships with the community and various external agencies
• Assists the Elders Worker, Wellness Team and elders to coordinate activities
• Promotes a safe and healthy environment for Elders
• Assist with cooking for the elder’s program on occasion
• Promotes the Elder’s involvement in various social and recreational activities
• Assist with researching regional and community events and activities for Elders
• Assists with developing a monthly calendar of various recreational activities
• Assists the Elders Worker in coordinating travel and accommodation for the Elders
• Performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Strong computer skills using MS Office software
• Reliable, dependable, and resourceful
• Good interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
• Displays good judgement and problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Those normally associated with a typical office environment. Continuous visual concentration on computer/laptop.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The majority of work will be performed in an office environment and outdoors. Must be flexible with hours, this position will require you to attend weekend and after-hours functions.

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
Equipment: Desk top computer, Laptop, Photo copier, Printer
Software: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Eligible participants must be of Indigenous ancestry
• Must have a Social Insurance Number and be at least 15 years of age
• Must meet ASETS criteria for referral (Referral required before interview)
• Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB, may be required (provided at no cost to the individual)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Fixed term position 8 weeks: July 7, 2025 to August 29, 2025
Wage offered will be: $19.14 per hour
Hours per week: 37.5, with some flexibility in hours/days of work
Competition closes June 9th, 2025 at midnight, Pacific Time.
