Overview
The Lytton First Nation (LFN) is recruiting a Housing Maintenance Supervisor for the maintenance, renovations, and repairs of all LFN band owned housing units. The Housing Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all housing units are maintained, renovated and repaired in a safe and reasonable manner. The Housing Maintenance Supervisor will work directly under the supervision of the Housing Manager, to ensure all housing maintenance, renovations, and repairs are budgeted, estimated, approved and completed.
Responsibilities: • Deliver housing maintenance, renovations and repair work in an efficient and satisfactory manner. • Supervise housing maintenance trainees or summer students. • Ensure housing equipment is used with respect, well maintained, and serviced. • Respond to emergency home maintenance calls for waterline breaks, leaks, septic backups and follow through with necessary repairs. • Pick up and deliver appliances for band owned homes as requested and submit paperwork to the Housing Manager. • Follow finance procedures for tools, material and fuel purchase with approved purchase order. • Ensure the company vehicles are well maintained with necessary engine fluids and weekly cleaning of the vehicle. • Perform safety and security checks and perform yearly inspections using the housing inspection form. • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. • Work with minimal supervision • Maintain housing inventory and report to housing manager. • Provide move in and move out inspections, keep records and follow up on needed repairs. • Other duties as required.
Training and Experience: • Class 5 driver’s license and drivers abstract. • Experience loading and hauling construction materials with a heavy-duty trailer. • Ability to estimate home maintenance, renovation and repair work. • Ability to supervise and motivate workers. • Complete renovation construction work to BC building code standards. • Experience in carpentry, small electrical, plumbing is an asset.
