About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Sncewips Operations & Cultural Administrator, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing essential administrative support and strategic assistance. This position is primarily responsible for handling administrative tasks, maintaining confidential correspondence, and will provide administrative support and assistance to the Sncewips Heritage Museum which is inclusive of the Language & Culture/Heritage Department.

  • Provide administrative and clerical duties including, but not limited to, the compiling, drafting, and preparation of confidential and non-confidential materials such as forms, letters, correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, posters, PowerPoint presentations, and templates as required
  • Plan and book harvesting excursions, team-building trips, and planning sessions for the Sncewips team
  • Book and provide payment for all travel arrangements for Sncewips staff, including itinerary
  • Transcribe, schedule, prepare, and distribute various meeting agendas and minutes as required, including but not limited to: the Cultural Advisory Committee, Sncewips Board of Directors meetings, Cultural Requests Meetings, siya Celebration Committee meetings
  • Assist the department with conducting research, organizing and reporting information, and preparing reports as directed
  • Serve as liaison between the Sncewips Operations & Cultural Administrator and other departments (and WFN membership), assisting in the development and completion of projects, attending to routine administrative matters, and coordinating interdepartmental efforts to further communication as needed 

Must Haves:

  • Administrative Assistant Certificate or Business Administration Certificate is considered an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years administrative experience or other relevant office support experience
  • Experience working in a museum or cultural centre considered an asset
  • Experience working with Okanagan/syilx or other Indigenous communities/people considered an asset
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, with results acceptable to WFN
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Acceptable Driver’s Abstract

The median salary for this position is $55,660
