TOSH Kellett Art Prize & Exhibition. Submissions open until September 30, 2026. This is a new juried exhibition celebrating the exceptional work being made on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and Haida Gwaii. We are inviting artists from across the region to submit their finest wall-mounted work for consideration by a distinguished panel of judges. This is an open competition with CASH AWARDS and a public exhibition in March 2027. The top prize is $1,500, and there are 5 further prizes of $500. Whether you are an emerging artist or have been working for decades, we want to see what you are making.
Graduate Bursaries from the MNBC Ministry of Education are now available to Early Childhood Educators (ECEs)! In support of recruitment and retention of ECEs across the province, this bursary is offered to MNBC Citizens who have successfully completed the Basic Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education between January 2026 and July 2026. $1,000 available for ECE Certificates, $1,500 available for ECE Diplomas. Pathways. Closes July 15, 2026. This is a free program that supports BC-based arts, culture, and heritage organizations and collectives as they continue to embed equity and access into their work. This process looks different for each organization. It is an ongoing learning journey. Participants will find a supportive community, individualized and relevant materials, and the time and resources to grow and deepen equity practices. Pathways also provides a means of accountability as you do this work.

UBC Summer Science Program for Indigenous students entering grades 9-12 in September 2026. The program hopes to inspire an interest in pursuing post-secondary programs in health and sciences fields. The program is situated on traditional Musqueam territory (Vancouver), with most programming taking place in the First Nations House of Learning on UBC campus. The camp organizes workshops in drum-making, medicine bag crafting, a virtual reality medicine lab, and more! Camp Elders organize Talking Circles and students have the opportunity to explore campus, learn about university, make friends, and connect with Indigenous mentors. Apply by June 15, 2026.
Métis Heritage Presentation. Join the Amelia Douglas Institute’s talented storytellers for these virtual presentations on captivating aspects of Métis culture, heritage, and art. These bookable sessions are an opportunity for anyone to learn more about the Métis people – not as a lecture but as a story. You’ll see and hear our heritage, arts, and culture and, we hope, take them into your heart. In some cases, we can be available to deliver these presentations in person.
